Does it me jobThe bottom tray came cracked in a couple places. I don't want to be bothered with returning it so I super glued and duct taped them. The doors are also a little stiff. Otherwise this seems like a pretty good crate. Our little dog loves this sturdy crate and adapted very quickly to it. Her bed and blanket fit inside just fine and off to sleep she goes in her own “house.” The doors are easy to operate and the metal construction means it’s not being destroyed by a teething pup.I use for it for my home living.I bought a travel crate, that’s easier to put up and break down.Very easy to assemble. My dog seems to like it.... which was I bought. Can't say anything about traveling with, as I have no need to travel with it. Just wanted a cage my dog use while I am at work. What I like best about precision crates is the overlap of the door to it's opening. And that the doors have locking tabs on the latch side that require you to lift the door before opening it. That's in addition to the latches. The crate pictured shows the old style tabs while the new one I received has a different, lighter structure in the tabs. They still kind of do the same thing but they don't seem as robust. We crate train in a gradual and positive way so that the dog doesn't feel trapped and desire to "dig" out. That said, we occasionally foster an "escape artist". We've had good luck with the old style doors with tabs as they have little to no give. A busy minded dog experimenting might figure out these tabs can be pushed open. I watched someone unfamiliar with having to push up on the door, try to open it by just pulling and he was almost successful. I guess only time will tell if a dog can figure out pushing these open. I do think those that review the toughness of these crates against a dog frantically trying to escape should be looking at welded steel or aluminum hunting dog style boxes instead of these wire crates. If you have a dog big enough for a 36" and up crate, he/she will be strong enough to break bars and bend the light steel these are made of. Unless proper crate training is done so the dog is comfortable and relaxed with being crated. This crate has worked pretty well for my dog so far. The only negative thing I have noticed is that on the couple of occasions when my dog has gotten sick in her crate overnight, the disgusting smell is so hard to eliminate from the black base part. I think it is more porous than it should be. Eventually the smell does go away, but after several cleanings and a couple days of airing out. My dog eats all bedding so she is laying on the base directly and this may not be an issue for pups who have a washable bed/blanket in between them and the baseEasy to use, fold easy for traveling and a quick assemblyThis crate is lovely and sturdy as the gauge of the wire is just perfect. My last one wasn't very sturdy despite lasting 10+ years (different brand) so I was very happy about that.I like the fact that you need to lift the gates before latching them so it's like a step security system lol.The bottom tray is sturdy and easy to clean. It was delivered on time and I am very pleased with this crate.I've bought quite a few of these crates for my pups for various locations. This one I was not a fan of.The latching mechanism is one where you lift the door to hook it, then use the handle latch to close. My pups aren't escape artists so I don't need the extra secureness. I also find that it takes me a few tries to get it to close correctly, and I need things to be efficient, which this is not. Finally I felt that it seemed cheaper. The frame part didn't seem nearly as secure as the others I've bought.(I've just bought the amazon brand one and LOVE it)This is a fantastic buy when on sale. For under $200CAD this is a very sturdy crate. A great fit for our adult (smaller than average) lab who is about 70 lbs.. She has a generous amount of space to stand up and lay down. Having the second door on the side is great and give you flexibility with where you can place the crate. Very happy with this purchase!Precision crates have deteriorated in quality. I have three from about ten years ago and the wire is much sturdier and thicker and the whole crate is of high quality and very solid. I got this one the other day and find it poorly constructed and much flimsier than they used to be. They are no longer top quality material. Not the fault of the seller here but Precision stuff is no longer what it was.
