My pup Sandy, a lab, chessie, golden, etc mutt was diagnosed w parvo at 10 weeks of age, and almost did not live to 11 weeks. 3 days in a sterile ICU, she pulled out of it, much to the surprise of the nurses and docs at South Paws, here in VA. In a few weeks we will celebrate her 6th birthday. Yay! Since then, she has had a very sensitive stomach, and even the slightest bit of corn (or whatever) has me cleaning the carpets. While I have learned over the years, what food, treats she can eat and what to avoid, despite her catholic diet, she still gets the occasional bouts of vomiting, diarrhea.Whenever this happens, I feed her this formula for a day or two, then wean her back on her regular diet (currently grain free nutro ultra, a big hit) Her vet applauds this approach and has always made sure I have cans on hand. Since we got into this regime, having cans in the pantry has saved me lots of money, rushing sick pup to the vet for GI issues. Is this the solution for everyone? Who knows... but it works for us.I am thankful every day my little scrawny,almost dead losing weight parvo puppy is now 68 pounds of thriving dog!
