I have a 6 month old Golden Retriever. He will be a rather large dog, as he is already over 50 lbs. I was loosing hope and patience with him, though because it seemed every time I gave him water, he drank his fill, then tipped the bowl over. This wasn't intentional, just caused by the shape of the bowl (the first bowl I used) or the lightness of the bowl (second bowl I tried). This bowl is heavy and has a very low center of gravity so it is much more difficult to tip over. The wooden stand it sits inside of further improves the bowl's stability. And finally, it is a rather attractive bowl, so it is not an eye sore sitting by the back door.I give this bowl 2 thumbs up. don't waste your money on a lesser bowl. This is a bit more expensive than the light stainless steel bowls you might be considering, but it is well worth the price.
