We live in the desert and, in addition to getting hot, we have thorns that make puppies limp! These boots are PERFECT! We started off by practice wearing them in the house for 10-15 minutes every few days. He did the comedic "high step" that got belly laughs! On our first hike out, I learned to cinch them tighter than at home. We temporarily lost a couple of boots in the first quarter of a mile, but once I tightened them, we knocked out the couple miles we could before the sun got too high and hot.Look at his smile! :)too big - they twist and slide. Go with a smaller size to fit your dogThese shoes were high quality, fit our lab well and she couldn't kick them off no matter how much she tried :)This shoe did not work for my dog unfortunately. She loves to run hard and these slippers flew off fast.Looks great but sizing runs small.I really wanted to like these as they seem well made and are cute. However, they aren't practical.They are difficult to get on and keep on (your experience may vary). My dog hated them. She was constantly jumping around trying to kick, rip, or chew them off. I hope others have a better experience than me because it's awesome idea for a product. Also they have a huge size variety (from super tiny to plenty big for a Great Dane, which is nice). Wish I could use them.In my experience, there is a better option than this to protect your pups paws (balm).The size 7 were too big for my dog. The velcro fastening is not tight enough to stay on and she slipped out of them very easily, making them a safety hazard. They do seem sturdy with rubber soles, if only they would stay on and didn't run so large.
